Hola!

I am a Spanish holistic therapist and I am currently studying nursing in London. I am fully insured and qualified as a Holistic Therapist and Yoga Teacher in England. Yoga and Holistic Therapies have helped me a lot, not only to improve the quality of my life, but also to help others. I feel very fortunate for being able to share it with the many friends I have met in the last 9 years. Below is a list of qualifications and some bits of my background to give you an idea of my path of development during the past years.

I see my work as a nurse, yoga teacher and therapist as part of my Dharma practice. In Buddhism, practice does not only mean the time you spend meditating on the cushion but all the time in your daily life.

As I work and study in the daytime, treatments are held evenings and weekends. I am based in Southwark near London Bridge and Elephant & Castle. Home visits are available (zones 1/2 - 10 extra charge). I use a portable futon from Thailand that I can bring with me. I look forward to meeting you.

Fernando

Background

I ran my own practice in Leeds from 2000 until I moved with my partner to London in 2002. I continued giving treatments from home and worked for Terrence Higgins Trust while I was studying the 2-year yoga teacher training at the Satyananda School of Yoga in South London. Once qualified, I started teaching yoga in Brixton. Apart from the drop-in classes I worked with people living with HIV and on a one-to-one basis with people with different conditions such as difficult breathing, stress disorders, and transgender post-operation, to mention a few.

In 2005 I became interested in Tibetan Buddhism. This was an important turning in my life as I decided to explore this path. During my travels I attended the Kagyu Monlam in 2006 and 2007 in Bodhgaya lead by H.H. 17th Gyalwang Karmapa. I also visited on a pilgrimage the main sites of the Sakhyamuni Buddha and received teachings from excellent teachers such as Thrangu Rinpoche at tha Vajra Vidya Institute in Sarnath in 2007 and H.E. 12th Kenting Tai Situ at Sherab Ling near Dharamsala in 2008, as well as many other excellent Buddhist teachers in Nepal, India (including Sikkim and Ladakh) and Thailand.

During my travels I also received all sorts of types of massage and I shared knowledge and experience with excellent therapists.
